ICOMOS General Assembly & Scientific Symposium 2017, India
ICOMOS holds its General Assembly every year and triennial General Assembly every three years. Till date, ICOMOS has held 18 sessions of its triennial General Assembly, twelve in Europe, two in Asia, two in North America and one in Africa. The General Assembly and the Scientific Symposium provides great opportunity for heritage professionals and enthusiasts to come together on a common platform to deliberate on various aspects of heritage conservation and management. Young professionals and enthusiasts also get a chance to interact with experts and comprehend the emerging issues and case studies on conservation and management of cultural resources.
ICOMOS India is proud to organize the 19th triennial General Assembly in Delhi, India from 11th – 15th December, 2017. The theme of Scientific Symposium is “Heritage & Democracy”. More than 1,500 delegates from around the world are expected to attend the events. These will provide great opportunity to promote international co-operation and strengthen understanding and communication in the field of heritage. It is thus an exceptional occasion to meet hundreds of heritage professionals given the diversity of their skills (archaeologists, architects, urban planners, engineers, curators, building conservation professionals, art historians).

Disclaimer
The 19th General Assembly and Extraordinary General Assembly will take place in Delhi, India at the invitation of ICOMOS India, from 11 to 15 December 2017. The Advisory Committee and Scientific Council meetings (including National Committee and Regional meetings) take place on 9, 10 and 11 December. On 11 December, there will be a short Technical Opening of the Extraordinary General Assembly in the morning related to quorum requirements. The rest of the day is devoted to the Advisory Committee, which is open to National Committee and International Scientific Committee Presidents and their delegations. For the pre-meetings, a separate registration is necessary.
