World Heritage Information Session
The World Heritage Information Session will be held in the framework of the ICOMOS 19th General Assembly, in New Delhi, India, on 11 December between 18:30 and 20:30. The main purpose of the Information Session is to provide ICOMOS members with basic information related to the activities carried out by the organization for the implementation of the UNESCO World Heritage Convention. The themes to be presented have been selected on the basis of requests of National and International Scientific Committees through the ICOMOS Advisory Committee.
After a general introduction on the array of activities carried out by ICOMOS, a presentation will be devoted to the role of National and International Scientific Committees, specifically focusing on what they can and cannot do.
The following two parts of the Agenda will be devoted to the role of ICOMOS experts in evaluation and reactive monitoring missions. Two qualified ICOMOS colleagues have been invited to comment on their own experiences and how they have become experts.
